The Neighborhood
Magnolia
Magnolia occupies a peninsula northwest of Downtown Seattle, separated from the rest of the city by rail yards, industrial land, and the Ship Canal. That relative isolation gives the neighborhood a quieter, more residential atmosphere than many similarly central Seattle neighborhoods.
Discovery Park dominates the western half of Magnolia and provides hundreds of acres of trails, forest, meadows, bluffs, and beach access. Magnolia Village forms the neighborhood's commercial center, while residential streets climb toward dramatic Elliott Bay and Puget Sound viewpoints.
